The demand for unique gowns has fueled the arrival of new salons and design collections. Mark ingram, whose gown expertise comes from stints with Amsale and Wearkstatt, recently opened The Bridal Atelier at 127 East 56th Street. The third-floor salon carries the collections of nine designers: Peter Langner of Rome, Wearkstatt Angel Sanchez, Monique Lhuillier, Anne barge, Judd Waddell, Amy Michelson, Manolo Collection and Rivini. Also on hand are bridal accessories by Paris Headpieces, Fenaroli for Regalia, Homa, Che Bella and Jennifer Leigh.

When it comes to choosing her gown, a bride knows far more than she thinks she does, filed away in the recesses of her mind is a romantic vision of the gown she will wear on her wedding day.
